Maple Ridge Residency

Colleen is the Fern Crescent Artist in Residence (2023-26). The Artist in Residence program allows artists to create arts-based community engagement projects and activities that have a meaningful impact on residents of all ages and abilities in exchange for live-work studio housing. The program enhances community cultural development and pride of place by activating and animating neighbourhoods, public facilities and parks through programming and community engagement activities focusing on topics of interest to our community.

The little box of what

I’m very curious about Maple Ridge and excited to get to get to know the community. If you are a member of a club or group who would like to get involved in the residency program or learn more about it, I would be happy to speak to your organization.

In the first year of the residency, I will be hosting drawing, collage and writing workshops. To find out more, get in touch.

Over three years, I will facilitate group storytelling through pictures, words and performance. Year one will be all about close observation. Year two will be about building, arranging and assembling. And year three… that’s a long way away… some dance, some theatre, some costumes? We will see.

Zoom One-on-One Artist & Writer Visits & Discussions For Maple Ridge

Would you like fresh eyes on your work or someone to bounce ideas off? I am inviting artists and writers to get in touch for one-on-one virtual meet-ups using Zoom. This is a chance to share and discuss your work. The conversation could range from discussions about your art practice to grant writing help or mentorship. I have 25 years of art viewing, making and writing experience. I can give you insightful feedback and references for your work or we can just chat about what you are making these days. Please contact me to set up a visit.
